Jhansi/Lucknow: A devastating fire at the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) of Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi claimed the lives of 10 newborns, media reports said.

10 children were killed and 32 others were reduced after a fire broke out in the children's ward of Jhansi Medical College in Uttar Pradesh, police said. ADG Zone Kanpur, Alok Singh, confirmed that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit and that the children who died were in incubators at the time.
