Tyquan Thronton’s time with the New England Patriots has come to an end. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Saturday that the team had released the former 2022 second-round draft pick.

Tyquan Thornton never emerged as the top threat the Patriots were seeking when they drafted him in the second round in 2022, and New England has informed the wide receiver that he is being waived, a source told ESPN.

The New England Patriots traded up to select Tyquan Thornton in the second round of the 2022 NFL draft. The receiver is now reportedly headed to waivers after 28 games.
